Minecraft Java and bedrock edition isnt playable even after redeeming the code

I received the code from a friend, redeemded it and got the email that says that I bought it. However, when I want to play it only shows me the base game/free version. I have had multiple email accounts on this Laptop but I cant change it which also means that I cant start the game on another account. I would be really sad if that code goes to waste. Please help me, if you need further information contact me.

Hi Michelle

You would just need to sign in on the Microsoft store app using the account that you used to redeem the game.

Once signed in > Library > Get Updates

So I go to minecraft java and bedrock edition and then click redeem a code under the three dots. After that i wait for it purchase. Then i got to the xbox app go into the microsoft acc that has minecraft on it then i will be able to access minecraft bedrock and java edition. I am correct right?

Thanks alot Ben and im doing well but i meant if i want to get a minecraft java redeem code will i get minecraft bedrock also cuz Im thinking about buying minecraft java redeem code and because minecraft did the java & bedrock edition together that means that i will get minecraft bedrock too

And does it have to be the exaclty the same like minecraft java and bedrock edition costs $40 and i have a $50 xbox can i still get minecraft java and bedrock edition even if the xbox giftcard value $10 more?

If you own the game already or long time ago, based from the Minecraft update you will also receive the other version of the game which is Bedrock if it is the Java edition you owned.

Here is the information from the website in case you haven't redeemed your code yet: I HAVE A MINECRAFT: JAVA EDITION OR MINECRAFT: BEDROCK EDITION CODE OR GIFT CARD TO REDEEM. HOW DO THESE WORK AFTER THE CHANGE?

The redemption process is the same. Simply head to redeem.microsoft.com and enter the code. Now, however, you’ll receive both versions of the game – not just the one you have a code for.

To clarify, if you have a card or code for Java Edition you can still redeem it and you will get both Java and Bedrock.

However, note that while you can redeem a Java Edition code from your account profile, a Bedrock Edition code will require you to head to redeem.microsoft.com.
