    Minecraft Java acts as if I havent bought the game


    I bought the combined "Java and Bedrock edition" a few days ago, and Minecraft Bedrock loads just fine, however, whenever I try to enter the Java version it only sends me to the demo and doesn't recognize that I have an account.

    I have tried to reload my account, reload the launcher, reinstall the launcher, reinstall the game, and clear the cache, but nothing works.

    I went to the logs, and it sends multiple error messages, one of them being "Invalid session ID", but I don't know how to fix that.

    I used to have minecraft java installed a few years ago on a different computer and transferred all my files to this one, but the game became unusable, I mention this in case it could be related to the current issue.

    We understand that you are trying to play Minecraft Java as you already bought the copy. There is a possibility that this issue is related to the account type or purchase or else with the launcher. Let us check on this together and sort this out in timely manner.

    You may want to check the troubleshooting available on Minecraft Support page:

    • Check your Microsoft account's order history if you have successful transaction of the purchase you made few days ago - Microsoft account | Order history
    • Make sure you are signed into the correct account type - Mojang account or Microsoft account.
    • Minecraft Java demo mode will allow you to test your device ability to run it. However, you may check system requirements for the list of required specification of the game.
    • Check if your account shows your license to play Minecraft java - Sign in | Minecraft
    • Update your launcher by installing from Microsoft Store.
    • Sign out your Java profile by clicking it on top-right corner and log out. (Skip step if this is not available.)
    • Completely sign out your account and see if it refreshes your account licenses when you sign in back.
