    Minecraft is asking me to choose a new name and reset my skin and cape.


    I reset my PC and redownloaded Minecraft, signed in with my migrated email which is to log into Microsoft. Now when I click play it says "Enter a username for Minecraft: Java Edition" I already have a username and it's "" and when I type "" it says it is taken. I also searched it up and it said I had to make a Minecraft profile on the website but when I type "" it still says taken. I have no clue what the issue is and I know it is the same email because I've only bought Minecraft once it doesn't say "Buy" when I sign in with this account but it says it for other emails I know I migrated my account and the email I'm using to log in is the same email as before because I’ve only bought Minecraft once and it was using the one I tried to login into. I'm 100% sure the email and everything are correct.

    I already contacted Mojang about my issue but was told to contact Microsoft. Got into a call with Microsoft and then either the support employee hung up on me or the call just failed.

    You just have to log in again in the minecraft launcher, it fixes the issue

    well atleast it fixed it for me

    Since you are not able to reset your Minecraft profile. I don't want to prolong the agony of this matter. I would recommend contacting the Mojang support to further assist you with this problem. They do have a broad knowledge about this one. I know for sure they can provide accurate information and feasible ways to fix the problem for you.

    Thank you for responding.

    When I go to minecraft.net login with my Microsoft account and then click on profile in the top right corner, I don't see "Reset Profile" It just brings me back to the "My Games" tab on the left. Maybe the website was updated? Is there a new/different way to reset my profile?
