    Minecraft Having Lag Spikes About Every 9 Seconds on Series X


    Whenever I open minecraft, im always greeted with a periodic lag spike out of no where. It's a very rough one that lasts about 2-3 seconds and it basically makes the game unplayable. Regardless of what I do in game, if there is a game updating or downloading, I am very positive that my Series X can handle it. It is a recent issue that started about 2 weeks ago and I have no idea how to make it stop. How could I fix it?

    Is it the only game having issues?

    Try performing a full power cycle

    Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button  on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off.

    Once the lights on the front of the console, unplug the power cable from the rear of the console.

    Wait at least 2 minutes

    Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button  on the console or the Xbox button  on your controller.

    I have the same problem ever since the update. I have noticed around every 30 seconds a lag spike that last about 5 to 7 seconds.

    Hi and thanks for reaching out. I hope you’re doing well. I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you and I'll be happy to help you.

    Kindly try clearing your console's cache by following the steps below;

    1. Turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.

    2. Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 10 seconds.

    Important Be sure to wait at least 10 seconds. This step resets the power supply.

    3. Plug the console power cable back in.

    4. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn it on.

    If the issue persists, kindly try changing DNS on your console.

    1. Please go to Settings > Network > Advanced Settings > DNS settings

    2. Primary DNS: 208.67.222.222

    3. Secondary DNS: 208.67.220.220

    4. Please hard reboot the console

    To hard reboot Press the Xbox button for 10 to 15 seconds until the console turns off. Unplug it from the wall for 3 minutes then plug it back in and turn it back on.

    Funny how I haven't had this issue on my xbox one x ever but when I go on my xbox series S then it just starts having the lag spike issues with my captures.

    Yes my isp supports ipv6. My speed test is 860 download speed,890 upload, with 5 ping. I shouldnt be having serious lag spikes every 60 seconds :(
