    Minecraft Gamertag "didn't work"


    Hi everybody

    I'm trying to launch Minecraft and login via my Micosoft account (I have switched over to a Microsoft account).

    I can login successfuly with my Microsoft account but when I enter my Gamertag, I get the message:

    That gamertag didn't work. Try another one.

    I have been able to log in successfully before so I don't undestand as to why I have this problem now.

    I've been onto Microsoft suport and have a Support request number but they've ben uanble to help and I'm not getting any repluies from them now.

    Any advice would be welcome.

    Oh, I though you performed a clean reinstall for minecraft
    In this case dont press restore/reset for Minecraft launcher to avoid losing worlds

    Hope you're doing great today Maga

    Please try this :
    Open Settings, click Update and Security and then Windows Update;

    Click Check for Updates;

    Click the Download and Install Now option, if available;

    Also, check the Microsoft Store for any updates on the Xbox apps and its services.

    Then do this:

    Go to windows settings > apps > search for gaming services app > click on it and select advanced options.

    After that, click repair and then restore/reset

    Then do the same for the Xbox app:

    Go to windows settings > apps > search for Xbox app and Minecraft launcher > click on it and select advanced options.

    After that, click repair and then restore/reset, open the app and try again.

    Finally do this :

    Step 1: Open the Run window by pressing Windows + R key.

    Step 2: Input WSReset.exe in the Run window and click OK.

    Step 3: Then a command prompt window will appear. After a few seconds, Windows Store will open.

    Gamertag change didn't worked

    Hi Jérôme. My name is Kyle and I'm an independent advisor.

    Sometimes, it can take a couple of days for your gamertag change to take effect across Xbox services.

    In the meantime, you can try restarting your Xbox, and removing and re-adding your profile to your console to see if the gamertag updates.

    Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
    Select Profile & system > Settings > Account > Remove accounts.
    Select Profile & System > Add or switch > Add new.

    If it doesn't change within 48 hours, contact Xbox Support: https://support.xbox.com/contact-us

    Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community

    You're welcome as well and we thank you for all of the efforts that you have given here on our community about your concern. For now, this is really the protocol for Minecraft to migrate your account. As it turns out, we do not have the right and specific tools here that we can share to you about all of your invested time and playing time within Minecraft and we do are very acknowledged gamers with that kind of playing time since I am a gamer myself, it is also very important to me on all of those achievements that we had made and as well as those given efforts on playing time.

    That is a good move to reach out to Minecraft or Mojang since that is the process and they are the ones held responsible for that as well since what we can cater is about Xbox Services and we can offer help to our limitations, and I do understand the experience that you have got. As it turns out this relies on specific Mojang issues since we do not have the right tools and resources that we can provide and only Mojang is the one that can cater your other concerns.

    At the least, that is the right thing as well to reach to them for your concern can also be heard on them since I know that you are not the only one experiencing this. In fact, they will be pinged that there are many users encountering this and possible Mojang might make a move onto this as well.
