Minecraft freezing when on new world screen off line

hi

my sons minecraft keeps freezing on the screen to create a new world. Its the old xbox 360 version. He is off line at the time. It also crashes when he goes on any of his old worlds.

is there any way of fixing this?

It has not been updated. He says he wants to keep it on the old version. Will it change it too much if he updates it?

It sounds like the game needs an update. I know they just released one like NeoDan mentioned. I would start there for sure.

Or does Minecraft freeze when you're in your Minecraft world?
If you start a new world in Minecraft, does that one freeze as well?
