Minecraft Free Update Promotion not working

We have had issues obtaining the Free update from Minecraft Xbox One Edition to the new Minecraft as promised by the pop up in our game. We played the 5 hours required, then the update message became availabe in our game but cannot get the new Minecraft
. I have contacted customer service, with whom we tried a couple possible fixes with no success. Now I have been directed to post here to get assistance.

When we click the box on the pop up message that says we are entitled to the new version it takes us to the xbox store and wants to charge full price.

Can you please help me get this working.

Xbox live 3 months promotion plus minecraft code

there is a promotion going on in which if you buy a 3 month xbox live gold subscription you will receive minecraft xbox one edition for free, the code is not in my xbox message center at all though, so i have not gotten minecraft as the promotion states
i should have gotten.

I also have this problem, same exact situation and same exact steps were taken for me too. The last time i saw this pop up for the download in game was on Friday, June 22, 2018. Is there anyway to fix this issue?

it was only until 31 Jan 2018.....so we are in late.

 

As many people are facing this issue, I'm sure MS are working to resolve it, make sure to follow Xbox Support on Twitter for daily updates.

 

The deadline to get the free upgrade was 31 Jan 2018 you have now missed this promotion
