    Minecraft for Windows 10 Master Collection will not install on my gaming PC


    Hello,

    On December 6th, 2020, I purchased the Minecraft for Windows 10 Master Collection to play with my cross platform friends on PC. After I made the purchase, the store page displayed the "Install/Play" button. When I clicked the button to install the game,
    nothing happened. I've tried restarting my PC and updating my OS to see if that would work, but it did not. I recieved the order confirmation email and everything, but when I tried to install the game from the email, the same thing happened, nothing. Any advice
    or help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    Unable to install purchase game

    Did you buy "Minecraft Master Collection" or "Minecraft for Windows 10 Master Collection"? The first is only for the console. You would need to purchase the Window 10 edition to play it on PC.

    If you purchased the wrong version, you'll want to submit a refund request and then purchase the correct version.

    I'm using freshly installed Windows 10, I reset the store and restarted, but this didn't change anything. Then I installed the Minecraft launcher, I logged in with my Microsoft account and it provided me the options for three versions with following buttons:

    Minecraft Java Edition / Play demo

    Minecraft For Windows / Install

    Minecraft Dungeons / Buy Now

    When I installed the Windows version the "Install" button turned to "Play", but when I launch the game it asks me to "Sign in" and then to "Unlock Full Game" by buying Starter or Master Collection.

    Hi Luly,

    Thanks for coming to the forums. The reason there is no option to install. There are only the

    starter collection     and master collection for sale. A lot of different games are doing this now, where the base game is not able to be purchased on its own.

    It's a part of the Master Chief Collection, as an add-on, so you'll need to install the Master Chief Collection and access it from there. It's not a stand-alone title.

    Did you install via the Windows 10 Store or Steam or for Xbox?
