Minecraft dungeon shut down my pc and lost character.

Unfortunately that screenshot from Event Viewer doesn't say a lot that we could make any meaningful sense of.

The text, when translated, simply states the application closed unexpectedly with a section of hexadecimal code.

Usually a PC will shut down or restart due to a hardware error. This error can be due to a fault, a power issue or a faulty driver. A game bug won't cause a system restart.

What is your system spec? Do you know what temperature your system reaches?

Hi! Sorry im not so good at this and though it could lead to an answer. But my pc has never shut down like that before? And the weirdest thing is that it reinstalled minecraft dungeon somehow.. because first i have it on desktop shortcut but the logo of the game was gone. just blank paper logo. But i boot it up and i had to choose language etc. When i was at the start the character was gone. just a level 1 character. Can i somehow save my old character? Any location in folders to find save files? I have HP Omen 30L with i7 10700K, 32GB DDR4 and RTX 3080. The PSU is 750W Platinum so i dont think it could be hardware failure? This just happened once

Thank you for contacting the Xbox support forums. I understand that you have lost your character data after reinstalling Windows. With the initial launch of Minecraft Dungeons, there was an issue that would wipe save data for a character in the game. It may not be possible to recover your exact character, however there is a fix to help prevent you from starting at the very beginning of the game.

Here's what I found from Mojang support:

"Heroes are not automatically synced to cloud storage. If you play Minecraft Dungeons on multiple platforms frequently, you must download your character before playing and upload it again before ending your session.

Purchased DLC does not transfer between platforms. You must own the DLC on the platform you’re playing on to access DLC missions and cosmetics.

Cloud saves allow for 20 unique slots to save Heroes.

Heroes can be used between Nintendo Switch, PlayStation:registered: 4, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. "

This means you may need to download the character/hero first to sync it on your new Xbox Series S.

"At the launch of Minecraft Dungeons, there was an issue that would wipe all save data in the game. With the release of the 1.2.0.0 hotfix, we fixed the data loss issues that were occurring on the Windows version of Minecraft Dungeons. If you were affected by this issue and lost your character’s progress, we want you to have the opportunity to download a built-up character so you don’t have to start over completely. This article explains how to download and install the character save file. "

Level 36 / Power 35

All main missions unlocked on default difficulty

Note: This save file can only be used on Windows PCs.

How to Install the Character

Download ”minecraft-dungeons-save-level-36.zip” to your computer using the link above.

Open the file and find 'BE5B6CA641B5286EC2696FADBC7DC63C.dat' in the folders.

Open the Start menu, enter Run and then click Open.

In the text field, enter %HOMEPATH%\Saved Games\Mojang Studios\Dungeons and then click OK.

Locate a folder named with a 16-digit number (E.g., 2612325419657064). Open this folder, and then open the Characters folder.

Copy 'BE5B6CA641B5286EC2696FADBC7DC63C.dat' into the folder.

IMPORTANT Do not delete or modify any of the other files in this folder; this could result in losing saved data.

Open Minecraft Dungeons. On the main menu, press Switch Hero and scroll to find the new character. Press Select to choose the character.
