Sorry your having this issue. First, is your account a child's account on a family account? If so, the adult needs to change your privacy setting.

If your account isnt a child's account you need to change your privacy setting. Here 's how:

To change privacy and safety settings for yourself

1. Go to Xbox.com and sign in to your account (this must be an adult account).

   If you’ve forgotten your account email address or password, see the Lost Account Solution or the Lost
   Password Solution.
   
2. Select your gamertag.
3. Select Xbox settings. If you don't see this option, select More links and then select Xbox settings.
4. Select Privacy & online safety.
5. Select either the Xbox One/Windows 10 Online Safety tab or the Privacy tab. Review the current settings and update any that you want to change.
6. Select Save before leaving or switching to another tab. If you don't save the changes before you move to the other tab, your changes won't be saved.

Thanks for the reply, Josepf. Unfortunate this doesn’t help me at all and mostly just reinforces my original inquiry on why Microsoft support doesn’t actually exist as they can’t actually help in any meaningful way besides be a tour guide on where to find instructions to do stuff ourselves.

I open the minecraft launcher, log into my account, and then doesn’t let me play minecraft, i can use the minecraft launcher in the xbox app using gamepass, but cannot play minecraft

Always do the tutorial, doesn’t take very long & it gives you a heads up on some stuff.
