Minecraft change email and account restrictions

I’m lost and don’t know where to begin.

I would like my 9 year old daughter to play Minecraft on the PC, using her own email (which I have created today especially for this). Until now she’s been playing Minecraft on an iPad with her username but linked to my email address.

On the PC it seems unwilling to let her log in to Minecraft with any email other than my own. I want to change that, so that her username migrates to her own email - how is that possible please?

I’ve already tried to buy Minecraft under her own email and her own profile, but it won’t let me choose her username - that presumably having been taken because it’s linked to my email address.

I also want to change settings so that she cannot buy anything in either the Minecraft store or the Windows store - at the moment it appears she can buy anything she likes and I want to turn all that off.

How might I be able to achieve this please?

I understand you need help with Minecraft.

Just a heads up, Minecraft will be using a Microsoft account to log in. If you want to change the email she will be using to log in on the same Minecraft account, you can change the email through that Microsoft account itself.

If you want to use her own email to log in, the one you already created, you can no longer use that to change your email because that is already a Microsoft account email.

You cannot also use the same gamertag that is already associated to another account because they need to be unique and make sure no one is using it still.

If you want to have restrictions on your daughters account, you can only do that if the Microsoft account profile is still a child account (under 18 years old).

If you want her to continue playing on her own account that you made since you already bought Minecraft there, you can add that account to a family organizer (adult profile) so you can place restrictions.
