Minecraft Castle Wars!!! >NEW GAMEMODE<

I want to start a new type of game mode... There's only 8 players to a game at a time, so there will be two sides of 4 players each. Each side starts with nothing, just as in normal survival. The main goal of this is to work together with your team
to build a fort capable of defending your team. Both teams will have a king, and the king must be defended at all costs. In order to win, one team must raid the enemy castle, then kill its king. Here is a more detailed list of rules:

>CASTLE BUILDING

• Doesn't necessarily have to be a castle, just a fortified village, usually with a complete wall around it.
  

• You cant put a roof or dome over the whole village, just a wall to surround it.
  

• Must be on the surface, not underground or floating in the air

• You must build a signal fire. The admin will light this to warn you of an impending raid.
  

• No odd structures. Make everything look good and be creative, this is more of a guideline than a rule. As admin i will ask you to tear something down if it looks stupid. Just keep things tidy.
  

>RAIDING

• To begin a raid, the king of your team must notify the admin by sending him a private message. This is so he can warn the other team by lighting their signal fire. Telling the admin this way can prove advantageous to the attacking team. If the defenders
  don't notice their signal fire is lit, the attackers can be able to surprise attack their enemy.
  

• Your king is the leader of the raid, he gives the orders and you have to follow them.
  

• If your king is killed while you are raiding, the raid is over.

• Players are not allowed to continue fighting after they die. when you respawn, you must wait by your bed until the raid is over.
  

• If the defending teams king is killed, the attackers win.

• You can only raid at night.

• The side that wins gets some special items as a reward.

>DEFENDING

• Build something to be lit as a signal fire. It can be something as simple as a hole with a piece of netherrack in it, or a tall structure of some sort to be burned down. Make sure to let the admin know where it is and how to light it as well.
  

• Defenders must protect their king. If he is killed you lose and must assign someone else as a new king.
  

• The king can hide inside a building or somewhere, but he has to be on the surface. No hiding underground, in the end or the nether, underwater, or anywhere but inside the castle.
  

• Other defenders can do whatever they want to defend the king.They can use any means to kill the attackers, as long as they don't use any kind of glitches or cheating of any kind.
  

>BEING A KING

• To become king, you must be selected by the admin. You can choose not to be king if you don't want to.
  

• You are not allowed to die. If you do, someone else will become king.

• As king, you control everything your team does. You tell them what to build, when to raid, and how to raid. You can rule however you want.
  

• Try not to be a tyrant. If your team doesn't like how you rule, they can report you to the admin and your leadership can be revoked.
  

• Assign people to jobs each day. Jobs are optional, but you can also order someone to do something and they have to do it.
  

• You are in charge of law in your kingdom. You make the rules and if someone disobeys them, you can have them killed or thrown in jail for a set amount of time. DO NOT ABUSE THIS POWER. If you abuse this, (like having people executed for no reason) you can
  lose your ability to be king, or even be banned from the server.

• You are in charge of finances. You pay the citizens for doing their jobs, and you take in taxes (if you choose to have taxes) You can also charge for the purchase of land, or anything you want. Just keep it within reason.
  

• Be careful when outside the castle. when you are outside your base, the enemy could kill you. Its a good idea to bring a bodyguard.
  

>JOBS

• Jobs are assigned each day by the king. If you don't do your job, the king won't pay you.
  

• You can start your own job if you want, just let the admin know and pay your king for any land you may need.
  

• Jobs are an optional thing. You don't have to do them.

>NON-RAID COMBAT

• When outside the safety or your castle, you can end up seeing members of the other team while you are out exploring. you can choose to be friendly, run away, or attack them.
  

• You are not allowed to attack inside the enemy's castle. This can only be done in a raid. Staying outside the enemy castle and ambushing them when they come out is not allowed either.
  

• Try not to "hunt down" other players, only fight if you come across them by chance.
  

• The admin can take away your ability to hurt other players if he thinks you are abusing the privilege.
  

• To fight players on your own team, you must "declare a duel" and notify the admin.
  

>LOOTING

• You are allowed to keep anything dropped by other players.

• You cannot steal from other players chests, whether they are on your team or not.
  

> BREAKING BLOCKS

• Do not destroy things built by other players.

• If the king asks something to be built, its public property. It cannot be destroyed unless he asks you to destroy it.
  

• When cutting down a tree, please take ALL the wood from it. Otherwise the top will remain floating in the air.
  

>OWNERSHIP

• When you want to own land, the king must sell it to you. Once he does, he cannot take it from you.
  

• You can sell your land or any other possessions for however much you want.

• Anything stored in a chest is safe from looting, but anything you drop when you die can be taken.
  

• You cannot own land in the nether or The End.

>CHAT

• • There are three chat channels. A party chat for each team, and the games chat is for everyone.
    

• If you want a private chat with the admin, send him a private chat invite, not a party invite.

Or maybe re-think your thread title. There are other keys on the keyboard other than the < and >. Might want to try the SHIFT key too.
