    Minecraft "Better Together" (Xbox One) List of potential issues


    After my initial session with the newly released Minecraft "Better Together" version on Xbox One I ran into the following issues.

    • Inventory Show Craftable/Show All toggle setting not retained after exiting/re-entering inventory view - The position of the toggle shows correctly, but I have to switch it back and forth from the "Show All" position to "Show Craftable" position, back
      to "Show All" in order for it to properly show everything upon re-entering the inventory view.

    • No crafting sound to accompany the crafting of items - Unsure if this is a "feature" or a "bug". I am used to Minecraft Xbox One edition where you get an accompanying sound when you craft something. Its terribly annoying to just have silence.

    • Controller mechanics need refinement - Its hard to pinpoint, but the xbox one controller controls for this newly released version are not smooth as compared to how the controller functions within Minecraft: Xbox One Edition. Movements feel cludgy in the
      Inventory/Recipe book/Chest views.

    • Achievements are delayed/lagged - Earned achievements seem to be taking a couple minutes to pop up after a particular function/activity is completed.

    Here's to hoping MS can quickly resolve and improve this latest launch!

    Do you own the digital version of Minecraft: Xbox One Edition? If so, you should already have access to the Better Together version. Check your 'Ready to install' list within 'My games & apps' for a separate version of Minecraft on your Xbox One console.
    You can also check our
    Better Together Support page     for more information, including what the tile art looks like so you can have a better idea of what to look out for.

    I do know the title art and have been watching the ready to install section for a few weeks now. And it's the disc version of minecraft Xbox one edition that I have.

    Hi Dylan,

    Thanks for keeping us updated with your replies. If the version of Minecraft you're using on disc is the Minecraft: Xbox One edition, then to update to the new Minecraft (Better Together), you'll need to purchase the game as it is a wholly different version.
    The free update from Minecraft: Xbox One edition to the new Minecraft edition (Better Together) ended on January 30th 2018.

    There are currently two versions of Minecraft on the Xbox One; the Xbox One Edition (which is no longer supported but remains playable if you own it) and the "Better Together" which is the version that has the cross platform feature. Late last year we had
    a promotion in which if certain criteria was met, owners of the Xbox One Edition would receive a digital copy of the Better Together Minecraft. This is no longer valid, but we still have an article with the details of the offer at Minecraft
