Minecraft Accounts Question - Unlinking from a PS4 account!

Linking a Microsoft account to a PlayStation 4TM account

WARNING: Once a Microsoft account has been linked to a PlayStation 4:tm: account, neither the Microsoft account nor the PlayStation:tm: Network account can be associated with a different account.

If you choose to unlink accounts, then purchases will be returned to the account which made the purchase. Even after unlinking, Microsoft and PlayStation 4:tm: accounts can only be re-linked to the original account.

Why may I ask is the account only able to connect with the original account? surely you should be able to link it with a new account as sometimes, like in my case you have to make a totally new PSN account for privacy / security reasons, in which case unlinking from the old PSN to a totally new one should be a thing that is allowed, the fact that you're saying, it has to be linked to the original account is completely confusing and also downright stupid, my old PSN account that my Minecraft account is linked too will be terminated within 32 days as I have made a request directly to Playstation to have my entire account and all of it's associated things terminated but they've told me that due to my Minecraft account being linked to my Microsoft account then I'd need to go through MS in order to have it unlinked but now you're telling me that even if I do unlink it and that account is then terminated, I will no longer be able to use my Minecraft account? that I would say would be completely unacceptable or do you disagree?

I don't really care about any purchases that I had made via my Minecraft account, I do however care to be able to use it on my new PSN account and so forth and being that I don't see a way to create a totally new Minecraft account and then link it to my current MS account, I am at a lost as to what to do, so what would be your suggestions and is there anyone whom you know off that works for Microsoft who would be able to help me with this directly?

Microsoft account is optional and not required to play Minecraft on PS4:tm:. It's a free account that you can use to log into a device. It allows Minecraft players on PS4:tm: to play with others on non-PS4:tm: devices such as iOS, Android, Xbox One, Switch and Windows 10.

A Microsoft account also allows portability of your purchases from Marketplace (non-PS4 devices) or Minecraft Store (PS4) to other devices and platforms. To create a new Microsoft account, go to:

account.microsoft.com

Note Once a Microsoft account has been linked to a PlayStation:tm: Network account, it cannot be unlinked without losing access to rights and Minecoins on other platforms.

Please note that the account must have an Xbox Social Profile.

if the problem persists, Unlink the Microsoft Account from the game and relink as shown below:

Start Minecraft and go to Settings > Profile;

Select Unlink Microsoft Account;

Check the three checkboxes to confirm that the account cannot access the Store, use cross-play and continue;

Select Unlink;

When the "Unlink Successfully" box appears, go back and sign in with your Microsoft account again.

If you are still not successful:

Logout All Devices to which the account has been connected;

Completely turn off all devices;

Just use the console and try to log into Minecraft with your Microsoft Account.

Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums. You would not be unlinking a PS account from your Microsoft account, you would be unlinking the Microsoft account from your PS account. So, you may need to do this either from your PS settings, your PS account settings
or from within Minecraft itself.

If you haven't already, try contacting PS support for further support. Also, take a look at this

"Minecraft for PS4 FAQ". It does state that there may be complications with unlinking the account.
