Minecraft account validation in the UK

I have a friend who's thirteen but still can't play Minecraft online. I read the page and by the rules of COPPA he should be aloud to play the game with me. He was born on the 5/9/08 (DD/MM/YY) but the game still tells him that he's to young despite no longer being under 13. Why is this?

Microsoft considers all accounts below 18 years as child accounts and the privacy settings page in inaccessible for them by default.

To change your privacy settings you'll need a parent/adult account. They'll need to add you to their family group as "Member", then go into that page and enable those settings for you.

The details are outlined here under the "Manage settings on Xbox.com" tab and "Manage a member's online safety and privacy settings" sub-tab.

In the profile page, your country is also set to UK, right?

Do you have a valid address on your account from UK too?

Hello Fr4nksy, unfortunately the game key you bought in Brazil is only valid in Brazil, because game codes, subscriptions and Gift Cards are region locked.

As you live in the UK, in order to redeem your Minecraft the key would have to be from the UK.
