Migration from Mojang to Microsoft Launcher

When I migrated to Microsoft Launcher the other day it did not let me in to my game but gave me my game name with a 2 at the end. the game started with a dead demo game as if I did not have the game. It crashes when I try to play my all the mods-6 to the sky game. This game I have been playing a long time. No matter what I have done I cannot change the name to my original game name. Microsoft needs to provide a way for people to recover from this kind of mess. I have been playing Minecraft since it came out and all the moded games. now I am in la dead demo world with a timer. help sounds good and all the FAQ's did not help nor the contacts I have made. I am not a kid but a 77-year-old Marine Vet. Semper Fi NOTE this is on a PC

First, we recommend signing out of the Minecraft Launcher and then back in and seeing if that re-authentication fixes your issue. You can do this by opening the Minecraft Launcher on your PC, clicking your Profile in the top left corner, and selecting "Log Out". When signing back in, try selecting "Microsoft Login" first to test if the migration from your Mojang Account to your Microsoft Account was successful.

If you cannot log in with your Microsoft Account, or you still do not see your world(s), then try signing in with your previous Mojang Account instead. If you are able to sign in with your Mojang Account, please ensure that you have access to your previous world(s) before initializing the migration from a Mojang Account to a Microsoft Account. Migrating to a Microsoft Account is mandatory for all Mojang Account holders and is also irreversible, so please make sure that you have migrated to the correct Microsoft Account.

That's normal, you can't access the old Mojang account after the migration, you need to use the email you used to migrate the Mojang account to, in the launcher you need to select Minecraft Java and then Microsoft login and then use the email you use during the migration process

You need to download the Minecraft launcher from the Microsoft store/Xbox app, inside the launcher you must login with the Microsoft account you used to migrate the Mojang account

When you purchased the Minecraft Java originally, did you purchase it with a Mojang account or a Microsoft account? You can also try installing the Minecraft launcher through the Xbox app and installing Java from there.

Oh, if you're looking for Minecraft Java Edition simply sign-in on the Microsoft account that you used in migrating your Mojang to Minecraft Launcher and you should be able to install and launch the game from there.
