Migration from Mojang to Microsoft Account Issue

Hello,

Today I went to log in to my minecraft launcher to play the java edition for the first time in a while (I have been playing a lot of bedrock) and I got prompted to Migrate my Mojang account to a microsoft account. I followed the steps and already had a pre-existing Microsoft account which I have 2 emails attached to. The instructions said (from my understanding) that the next time you use the launcher to log in, to use your microsoft credentials and not your mojang account. I tried to log in through the launcher with my microsoft account password, and I tried using both emails, and it says that my password and username are invalid. I can log in just fine on the minecraft website using microsoft, but it will not work in the launcher. I have tried to change my password, and it still will not let me log in through the launcher. Is there something I am missing? I don't want to lose my account forever simply because I cannot log in now.

Update: Mojang leaves off a step in their FAQ's when they say to sign in with your microsoft credentials. You need to go back out, delete the current profile (which is your mojang account), and add a microsoft profile from within the launcher. I feel like an idiot, but its fine. :')

When you purchased the Minecraft Java originally, did you purchase it with a Mojang account or a Microsoft account? If you purchased it with a Mojang account, have you tried migrating the account to a Microsoft account yet? You can learn more about migrating your Mojang account to a Microsoft account here:

You can also try installing the Minecraft launcher through the Xbox app and installing Java from there.

Do you have the confirmation email from Mojang in the Microsoft accounts used to migrate each Mojang account?

Please try these steps.

If your Mojang account has been migrated to Microsoft, you do not need to purchase the game again. If you are being prompted to do so, it is either because the migration process did not complete correctly or, more likely, you are logged into a different Microsoft account than the one you used for the migration.

What to do:

1. Check which Microsoft account you are logged into:

Make sure you are using the same Microsoft account that was used to migrate your Mojang account. If you do not remember which one it is, contact Microsoft support to retrieve the email address you used for the migration.

2. Check if the migration was completed:

Access your Mojang account profile on the Mojang website and check if the migration was completed. If not, try starting the migration process again.

3. Contact Mojang Support:

If the issue persists, contact Mojang Support via the Mojang Support website, providing your purchase receipt and explaining the situation.

4. Check Microsoft accounts:

Make sure you are not using a different Microsoft account than the one you used for the migration
