Migrating Mojang account to Microsoft deleted my Minecraft single player saves

As per title.

Last time I played minecraft back in august 2021 I was still able to use my very old mojang account to login. Today I tried to play and it prompted me to migrate accounts. I completed the migration, booted the game up, signed in using my new microsoft ID, game updated and none of my single player saves are present anymore.

The folder in .minecraft/saves is blank and using right click -> properties -> previous versions shows nothing

I assume im SOL here and just have to start again right? If I'd have known I'd have backed them up

I just had the same issue, so I don't believe this is an isolated incident.

If I figure anything out I'll reply here again.

The most likely thing is that it is a bug, unfortunately, because this is not common.

If you think you have migrated your Mojang account to the wrong Microsoft account you have to speak to Mojang support to reverse this. That's what they themselves say in the FAQ they published about migration. I also recommend checking your other Microsoft accounts and in Minecraft launcher delete all accounts and re-add your Microsoft account again.

I migrated my Minecraft Mojang account to a Microsoft one and I can't find out which Microsoft account it was. I have my transaction ID from purchasing the game. Is there a way to know which Microsoft account has my copy of Minecraft?

The only real way would be to login to every single Microsoft account you have and see which one has your Minecraft game on it.

I contacted Mojang Support again.

They now tell me that my Mojang Account has not migrated to the Microsoft Account with the same email address, but to some other Microsoft Account.

My Family has 3 other Microsoft Accounts. So I presume it is possibly one of those.

All those Accounts have Minecraft licenses of their own. So possibly I have a Microsoft Account with a double license to Minecraft.

I asked Mojang Support to what account my Mojang Account has migrated. I have yet to receive an answer.
