Migrating Minecraft to a new laptop

I'm migrating the data from my daughter's old laptop to her new one.

The game is installed on the new laptop and it opens.

But on her old laptop, even though she's signed in on the same email address, the gamertag is different to the new laptop.

Additionally, on the old laptop the files are stored here:

C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.MinecraftUWP_8wekyb3d8bbwe

But on the new one they're stored in

C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft

Is there a way to convert the old file location to the new one? The content looks very different across the two locations.

And is there a way to get the new laptop to use the old gamertag?

Thank you Kyle,

We have installed Bedrock edition on the new laptop and copied the worlds into the right location.

These are now listed on the new laptop when Mincraft is running.

However, the gamertag is still different, despite the email address used on both being the same,

I've triple checked it, character by character.

Is there a way to erase the Xbox profile on the new one and try again?

The locations you have listed are for different versions of Minecraft. The first location is for Minecraft Bedrock, the second location is for Minecraft Java.

Save data is not compatible between these versions, you need to install Minecraft Bedrock on the new laptop and copy the data to the same location as before.

If the Gamertag is different, you have probably signed into the incorrect Microsoft account. Double-check the old laptop's Xbox profile and account to ensure the correct Microsoft account is being used.

I migrated my Minecraft account to Microsoft some time ago, and the game on my laptop is the full version, not a demo mode. I checked on both computers, and I am logged in the same Microsoft/Xbox accounts. I tried the "free trial" on my new computer and saw that it was not the full version.

The problem i'm having is that before migrating accounts I installed minecraft and made a new minecraft account under my microsoft name. I would like to delete that, and then migrate accounts
