    Migrating GTA accounts


    All of my friends have gotten new generation consoles. I still have an old gen but I am able to cloud play the new gta. My worry is that if I migrate my account on the same Xbox will I lose my old account since it is on the same system? Or am I safe because one is through cloud play and the other I own?

    Yes, it is possible to transfer your GTA Online progress from Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S Enhanced, but not between different platforms (such as PC). You will need to start the process in GTA Online Enhanced, via the Pause Menu, and choose the profile you wish to migrate.

    Process details:

    Migration within the same platform:

    The migration is done within the Xbox family, i.e. from Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S.

    Start the process:

    The migration must be initiated in GTA Online Enhanced (on Xbox Series X|S).

    Pause Menu:

    Access the Pause Menu in-game and follow the instructions to migrate your profile.

    Choose profile:

    You will need to choose which GTA Online character you wish to migrate to the Enhanced version.

    One-time migration:

    The migration is one-time and irreversible.

    Legacy progress:

    Your character progress in GTA Online Legacy (Xbox One) will remain there, but the migration is one-time and irrevocable.

    Separate Accounts:

    If you try to migrate to a different console (e.g. PS4 to Xbox), you will have two separate profiles.

    Linking to Social Club Account:

    Make sure your PS and Xbox accounts are linked to the same Rockstar Social Club account.

    No Problem (Generally):

    As long as you have GTA Online Enhanced on your console, your accounts are linked correctly, and you have no illegitimate progress, there should be no issues with the migration.

    Do you mean your Rockstar Account?

    If yes, take note:

    "To revert your GTA Online profile migration from Xbox Series X|S back to Xbox One, please contact support using the following link:

    IMPORTANT: Reversing your GTA Online profile back to your Xbox One will revert your GTA Online profile progress back to when you chose to migrate to Xbox Series X|S. You will lose any progress made since that initial migration."

    If you "downgrade" your account version, you won't be able to use it on the "new gen" consoles, you would need to migrate it again.

    Choose online play > GTA V migration > Xbox Series X > Contact Us

    (Sign in to your Rockstar Social Club account if prompted to)

    Then you’ll be taken to a screen where you enter your current gamertag of the account you migrated you GTA V account to. In the description box tell em you want your account migrated back to Xbox One.

    Lastly, scroll to the bottom and click “Submit a Chat ticket” To start the live chat.
