Migrated Mojang/Minecraft Acct (Mac user) to Microsoft but no option to play it! ???

Ok, I migrated my Minecraft/Mojang Account to Microsoft a few weeks ago where they confused the heck out of me by creating an Xbox account w/a made-up username. (I thought they had logged me into someone else's account!) Nowhere in *any* instructions do they tell you this is what happens. I don't own an Xbox. With the help of Mojang (no response from Microsoft at all), we figured it out.

Anyway, since there's a March 2022 deadline looming, I went to finally play Minecraft w/my Microsoft account but it gives me NO option to do so! It only says:

Play Demo on Minecraft: Java Edition

Minecraft for Windows (I don't have windows, I play on a Mac)

Minecraft: Dungeons (which apparently I can't access either)

How do I play Minecraft now that I have a Microsoft account? I read somewhere that I should be able to download Minecraft for Windows for free but...if I don't have Windows on my computer, that won't do me any good.

Am I missing something? Is Microsoft forcing all Mac users to re-purchase Minecraft + Microsoft Windows in order to now play Minecraft? I cannot find any helpful answers to these questions.

I'm sorry, I don't understand. I already own and have played Minecraft on this computer (an iMac), so it's already downloaded. Just did so in the last few weeks, in fact.

Since I've migrated to Microsoft, the launcher now only gives me the option to Play Demo. It doesn't recognize I own it and have saved worlds.

I know others have had this same problem. I see their tweets to Mojang & Mojang has said (in the last week) that there was a fix to this problem...but, nope, the fix isn't working. Not sure if it's on Mojang's side or Microsoft's side. I never hear back from Microsoft, thought someone else may have here.

Exact same problem, demo option only. We play on Mac computer, purchased years ago.

We got it to work, ymmv.

Essentially you have to complete the migration through your mojang account, email verification and agreeing to terms etc.

We had to login to mojang through a browser, since the login on Minecraft launcher wouldn’t let us access our mojang account. One in the browser part of mojang we could complete the other half of the migration. If you follow the steps given in the Minecraft launcher you only get half of the migration done. Figure out a way to finish the other half through mojang. Hope that helps.

Hello Len, this usually starts because one thing is the Xbox Gamertag and another is the Gamerta that you own in Mojang, more or less as happens who plays Fortnite, if you play on the console the Gamertag is one, but if you log in directly through the Epic account you will have a different Gamertag.

The question is whether you own the Minecraft version for MAC and have also migrated from Minecraft account to Microsoft.

ok, but the issue is not your migration to Microsoft 365, this is because you migrated your Minecraft account, to a Microsoft account, and the error on the first screenshot is because you are trying to use the Mojang login still instead of the Microsoft login option at the top of that box
