Migrated Minecraft account no longer accessible

A couple of days ago I successfully migrated my Mojang account over to a new Microsoft account. I was able to log on to it as expected and change its cape. The day after, I tried to log on and my account is no longer linked. I've tried to log onto it via the original Mojang account, but it tells me its already been linked. Ultimately, it sends me in a loop where the Microsoft account has me try to link to the Mojang account, but Mojang tells me its already been migrated to Microsoft.

It feels like my account has just disappeared into thin air lol.

I've already spoken to Mojang who told me to try seek out help here since its out of their hands now. Hopefully you guys can help out!

Do not worry about it! It's odd that they are sending you back and foward between the companies.

Oh my, unfortunately here we are members of the community just like you so we do not have access to any of your information, I solved my issue by verifying my email! I was using the Mojang account not my Microsoft account.

Microsoft's support system seems to be notoriously difficult. I've tried a few times now to chat to someone over the phone, but every time it says they're unavailable and directs me back to community forum support. It also seems as though there's no way to send an email to support and get help that way?

After having a little look around the forums, it seems like a few people are having similar issues - especially when it comes to Microsoft telling users to contact Mojang, but Mojang telling users to contact Microsoft. It's quite frustrating, really.

Yeah, I understand that and it's not a problem. I was just hoping someone might have had a similar problem and could point me in the right direction. Thank you for taking the time to try and help out though, I do appreciate it.

Please double-check you are logging in to the same Microsoft account you used to migrate your Mojang account.

Make sure you are not logging in with your Mojang account. Migrated accounts will only be able to log in with your Microsoft account.

If you forgot which email you used to create your Microsoft account for migration you will need to speak with Microsoft support to recover the email address used to sign-up.

You may not have completed your migration, please go to your Mojang account profile page and start the migration again. https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/profile
