Microsoft's responsibility to Minecraft alpha customers

Microsoft has completely botched the management of old minecraft accounts, and has offloaded the burden of their mistake onto the paying customers. I've reached out to minecraft support several times regarding migrating my old account. Despite providing all of the requested info their customer support responds that they are unable to migrate my account and closes my ticket. I've requested the issue be elevated and had that request denied. This is beyond unacceptable. Part of what i paid for when i bought minecraft was continuing support and access to the game, which has now been effectively stripped from me due to the poor management of the migrations. I retain my original login username and password, which are the only credentials i should need. Beyond that i have been able to produce paypal transaction receipts from that original purchase, proving that i bought the game in 2010. I retain access to the email used to purchase the game. This should be beyond enough to migrate my account. It's absolutely absurd that microsoft strips the original players access to the game and meanwhile sets an arbitrary and absurdly high bar for validating my past purchase. It's borderline theft. Return the product that i paid for. The burden of your mistakes with migration should not fall on me. I refuse to pay this company a cent until this issue is resolved.

If you have the transaction ID via the Paypal purchase, does that come with a receipt of some kind with a date of purchase and location of purchase - For example it shows that you purchased form Minecraft.com or Mojang.com?

And to be clear your credentials are in fact a Mojang account? and does this log in work on Minecraft.com? Sorry If I am asking a lot of questions, I am trying to ascertain the core of the issue with your account, be it the state, or another factor I may have in mind, but I don't feel as though I have enough information to judge at the moment.

Back when i purchased and played there were no different "editions", but yes the game was written in java at that time. I suppose that later became minecraft java edition.
You can still log in to Minecraft with your current credentials? I'm not sure how clear you are on this but if you could clarify, I would appreciate it.
- I cannot. My original credentials no longer work.
I never migrated to a mojang account. I have only ever logged in with my username.

I've opened several tickets and they have all been closed by a support representative after saying they have failed to validate my account with the following info:

account name
date of purchase
paypal transaction ID
email registered to account (in my case this is my paypal email, which i do retain access to)
city and state where purchase was made
ISP when purchase was made (weird ask but okay...)
my birth date

Would like to help here if I can. Though Mojang has full purview over the migration process-Microsoft does not control or curate this process-, I assume that the closing of this case on their end means there may be an issue on our end. If there, is I can try and help confronting that, if not, we can try to better define the issue so that it can be fully understood.

Some things I understand from your post, please clarify any mistakes:

Your account is considered an alpha account, which if I Understand the Migration process is different as detailed here: How to Migrate a Legacy Minecraft Account to a Microsoft Account – Home
You can still log in to Minecraft with your current credentials? I'm not sure how clear you are on this but if you could clarify, I would appreciate it.
You said you purchased Minecraft, I assume this is technically Java edition. Please feel free to clarify.

Considering how old the account is, I found some articles in relation to a legacy account that may help bring your account to a fair state in terms of being legacy to a current Mojang/Microsoft Minecraft Account.

In the second link I would look at the section labeled "If you created a Minecraft account prior to November 2012, the following may apply to you" and please let me know which one you fall under to help make this process a little smoother for you.

Custom gamerpics are only available to people in the alpha ring of the insider program at the moment.

If you are not part of the alpha ring then you can not use custom gamerpics at the moment & risk some sort of enforcement action if you do so.

I am experiencing the same issue. Nothing states JAVA EDITION, even tho I have it and have used it once before. All that I see available is Minecraft Launcher(doesnt open anything when I click on it), Minecraft Dungeons, & Minecraft for Windows PC bundle, all of which don't allow me to access the Java Edition which I need to access an alpha custom server. Very fustrating.
