Microsofts Policy needs to be changed

When you say the gamertag shows as available on all websites, what sites are you talking about? Only Microsoft sites are official, and when you search for a name and it can't be found it doesn't say available, it tells you it can't find it. There is a difference,
which might not be clear enough, however at the point of changing you get informed.

I believe Sony will also have similar rules, if the name you want can't be had then you won't be able to get it there either.

Switching platforms over not being able to get the name you want is a little extreme, in my opinion, as you won't get back the money you have invested in the current system. Have both

If you used a site like checkgamertag, the search returns false. I just tried and apparently my gamertag is available as is another that I know is in use.

Do not trust information from 3rd party sites, claiming they can tell availability.

When the mass gamertag release was done none of those gamertags were from accounts that had permanent bans on them.

Their will most likely not be another Mass gamertag release done the new policy with MS is the account must not be signed in on anything to do with MS for 5 years starting in 2016. So in 2021 any account that had not been signed in for the last 5 years on
anything to do with MS not just Xbox that accounts gamertag will then be released

It's actually so problematic that exposing community racism is censored even in these forums.

Man, Microsoft needs to consider a major policy change here.

I don't care if Microsoft bring back their DRM policies because I'm always online, but if Microsoft do bring back their old policies will it hurt sales?. Microsoft changed their policies for a reason.
