It is an already dominated market by Nintendo. Sales for it would be poor. Many others have stepped up to the plate and have failed, (Nokia N gage comes to mind) Microsoft is staying in familiar waters with Windows phone and there surface tablet. So sorry
OP but a Xbox handheld probably will never happen.

i have a kindle e-reader. the majority of use i get out of it is playing games, not reading. just because a thing is one thing does not mean it can also be another thing, the windows phone is microsofts handheld console.

  6. NVidia's Tegra K1 is the most advanced chipset for mobile devices at the moment and while it can run a version of Unreal Engine 4, it's still not quite there yet with graphics of the last gen consoles - it's getting closer though. So the idea of playing
Xbox 360 type games on a handheld is still a while off yet.

    http://www.nvidia.com/object/tegra-k1.html

In any case, Microsoft already make a handheld, it's called the Surface Tablet. Did you know that the Surface, running Windows 8 and 8.1, can use an Xbox 360 controller? Well it can. Only thing the Surface needs is games. Problem is, developers and publishers
need to bring those games to the Surface and Microsoft can't force them to do so if they don't want to.

Even if Arm based Tegra K1 mobile processors were available right now and in a new Surface tablet, it's not an easy task to bring Xbox type games to such a system. The Xbox 360 uses IBM PPC architecture which can not be easily ported across to a mobile device.
Any Xbox game would have to be completely coded again from scratch.

What i meant was the portable gaming system would come close to console like graphics, not run console graphics, like the Ps Vita which runs console like graphics and has it's own set of games, not just ports from other consoles, it would be cool if Microsoft
made a traditional handheld with the controls built into the system so that it can handle complex gameplay like any other traditional handheld, either way Microsoft isn't going to go that route.

    Microsoft's Handheld System

MS already has a hard enough time competing with their competition when it comes to the number of exclusives. If they make a handheld it would only make things worse in that regard. So I am against it. Besides it would fail anyway.

  9. Why would Microsoft invest kn a market that is a failing market. The last successful handheld system was the Gameboy. The market is dead. The PSVITA proves this.

  10. I believe they considered it at some point when the PSP started to gain some popularity. But I thought I heard somewhere that they said the handheld market wasn't for them. I may be wrong on that though.

Marwood ll 87 "Face palm", are you for real, haven't you done any research or looked at the sales charts for game consoles, the Nintendo Ds which was released way after the Gameboy, sold twice as much as the Gameboy ever did and it's now the second best
selling game system of all time, the Psp sold 80 million just as much as the Ps3 and the Xbox 360, the Ps Vita sold 10 million and just imagine how much the Ps Vita would have sold if Sony bothered making games for it, consoles such as the Xbox One, Ps4 and
the Wii U are selling poorly, due to it not reaching many peoples expectations and it's lacking launch titles and 3rd party support, most people are moving to Pc's but handheld portable game systems aren't going no where, they're evolving, the Steamboy is
another upcoming handheld that is going to take Pc gaming on the go.

OP the MS fan base want multi function devices. And most MS fans are grown ups. And they need to have one device to do it all in one. And WP fits the bill for XBOX fans. And handhelds are from of molbie gaming. Because it portable to take any where. And
every where you go. The diffrents between a WP and a DS. A DS is made for kids in mind. And WP is made for grown up in mind. I like my WP. But I wish there more LIVEable games for it.

It's simple really, all Sony has to do is promote their system, they have to make games for it and get 3rd party support, btw the Ps Vita didn't sold 4 million it sold 10 million roughly, but that's still bad in terms of Sony sales or in comparison to the
3Ds, if the Ps Vita had games, sold with the Ps4 as a bundle, dropped the memory card prices, advertised their system, then the sales would of been a lot higher, just like the Wii U, lack of games and promotion.

LMAO!!! You sir are funny. PS4 and XONE selling poorly. They are each selling faster than the 360 last gen at launch. If I'm not mistaken they are also both in the top 3 fastest selling consoles at this point in their life-cycle.
