Microsoft's apparent lack of safety precautions on smaller purchases

If the purchase is made from your Microsoft account you won't be required to give the CCV and the expiration date of your card on all your purchases, but I repeat, that's only if you are doing the purchase with your Microsoft account, the one on which you already entered this information for the first purchase you made

Any other Microsoft account will need to give the card number, CCV and the expiration date, as well as the billing address for the card before being able to do a purchase

Nope strange your bank doesn't tell you about the facts

To add any payment option you.must have physical access to the card as your CV and expiry dates arent even stored by your bank

No-one can randomly guess your 16digit number and not enter your cv after 5x guessing and failing you can't add the payment option

Fyi what your bank is telling you you misunderstood

No.billing company can add your card without a cvv or expiry date

However.the misunderstanding is once you add the cvv and expiry date yes you no longer need them

Again they need physical access to your card

Sibling or spouse or kids or people you lent your account to after you added the card

You would also have 3 test charges 99 cents each when you add a card to any retailer didn't you notice those test charges ?

This your bank should know

Noone but anyone with physical access ro your card would be able to add it to their account

If you gameshare then you need to stop you don't lend out your account to anyone period

or your kids do maybe Soho is a better option for them

well weird for the bank to say that, when i add a payment option to my microsoft account it requires the expiration and cvv code, but once added it is saved until i remove it like most other companies out there, for future purchases or subscriptions.

if you do not have a payment option stored then you would need to add one and as i stated that will require the above and most of the time a small test charge is made to make sure the account is real, this small amount is not actually removed.

without the cvv and expiration and matching name on the account you cannot add the card as a payment option.

your account should not be compromised if you have 2 factor auth enabled.
