    Microsoft Xbox one controller wont re-pair after disconnecting USB cable.


    I've seen other threads about this issue and still no fix for this, so I decided to make an updated thread.

    I play pc games, we all do and sometimes a controller is needed to play certain games. My gripe is how a Microsoft product which is made to work with almost all versions of Windows is still having a problem reconnecting via Bluetooth, the whole point of
    updating the Xbox one controller was to make it more versatile. How has Microsoft not fixed this.

    The only way to reconnect is to remove the controller from my pair list and re-pair all over again.

    My Controller has the most up to date firmware and Windows 10 is updated, so it's not a driver issue and I know I'm not the only one with this issue

    Is there a fix that I don't know about?

    XBox Elite Series 2 unplugged from PC using USB won't auto connect to Bluetooth

    I would also like to add I have the exact same issue on Windows 10.

    Just purchased the Elite 2 controller and found that the initial bluetooth pairing works fine (TP link Bluetooth Dongle). Then plugged the supplied USB-C cable into a USB port on my PC to charge. After disconnecting from the USB C cable the Xbox light flashes
    on the controller. Power cycling the controller makes no difference I still have the flashing light.

    Only by removing the bluetooth device and re-pairing does it work again. Note that I have updated the controller to the latest Firmware.

    For Information I have a Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows and that works as expected without the above problems.

    Xbox Series X Sync button/synced controller stopped. Sync button must work as I am able to get to BIOS. Sync button wont blink.

    If your controller isn't pairing to your Xbox, not even after pressing the pairing button, then try to connect your controller to a PC using a USB cable, or even using Bluetooth. If the console isn't allowing you to pair, then just turn it on as usual by pressing the power button on it, and then connect the USB cable with your controller connected to it, to your console. This should pair your controller to the console automatically.

    Hi, are you using official Microsoft Battery? the one included in the Play & Charge kit?

    For the other issue, if you connect your controller to a PC or an Xbox One console using the USB cable, you associate it with this device, it's absolutely normal that you can re-pair again the controller if you switch device. To avoit this issue, you can
    use a smartphone USB charger with at least 1A so the controller works wireless with the currently paired device.

    The controller should make a pair with the console with a micro USB cable that supports data transfer such as the Play & Charge kit Microsoft sells.
