Microsoft will does not give a SH** if your Xbox get stolen and they won’t help

my Xbox one s got stolen a month ago and I called the cops to help me get it back, we called Microsoft to help and they won’t do anything. The only thing they say is that the Xbox is not under warranty for theft and they don’t care about helping to track
it. Obviously the thefts aren’t going to sign into my account cause then the ip can be tracked so pretty much I lose and the thrifts win. So much for bill gates having billions he can’t even track the serial number of a 400 dollar device. My iPhone 5s was
130 dollar store and it could be tracked ! Why not the fancy Xbox one S ! This is dumb engineering

    :)

    Stolen Xbox

    Hello,

Microsoft complies with your local law enforcement. If your Xbox 360 was stolen and they are able to help in anyway in terms of tracking a console then they should be able to comply. They will not be able to release that information to you directly unfortunately,
they will go directly through with local law enforcement. They will not block a console from the network if the console itself hasn't done anything wrong, and you can always retrieve your account if it's been stolen/compromised from your console being stolen.

  3. better customer service for stolen xbox

i wish there was better customer support for stolen xbox ones xbox 360s. they (microsoft) often refer you to your local law enforcement but for the most part are lazy and useless and wont do a thing. If you buy it have serial numbers and all they should
be more of a help. even having just a place to report to microsoft your console was stolen so they know when someone else is using it. I know a stolen xbox just means you want someone to buy another one to replace it but thats not going to be the case in this
    event.

If your console gets stolen, you are to report this theft to the police, and if applicable, your insurance company. Provide your serial number, this is important info for helping detectives track consoles down.

You'll also want to change your account password and check your order history for any fraudulent purchases.

    xbox one

If xbox gets stolen then you need to report it stolen to the police and give them all the details about the xbox like the serial number and make sure that you keep the reciept as proof of purchase. You will also need to go to your microsoft account and
change your password and/or passkey as soon as possible so that noone can make any unauthorized purchases on your account in your name. If you have the product insured then you should be able to claim a replacement if the xbox gets lost or stolen. Hope this
    helps and all the best.

    Xbox got stolen

Sorry there is no way to track a stolen device like this. You can shutdown access to the console by changing your password to the account.

Microsoft does recommend that you file a police report and give them you console's information.

Here is a link to Microsoft Recommendation on what to do when your console is stolen: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/my-account/security/stolen-console

Xbox one Furtado [Translation-Xbox one Stolen]

    Hi Doug,

This is actually untrue. Microsoft does not have access to a person's Xbox or remotely control anything on the Xbox. That would infringe multiple privacy laws. Your Xbox is your Xbox and your personal information is secured granted you have your security
information up to date. You need to formally request an investigation into this matter with your local law enforcement and your law enforcement should then contact Microsoft for assistance. The serial number is for you to prove to the police that the console
that was stolen is yours based on what is registered on your account. It's against the law to give out any personal information of someone else's account and Microsoft does not GPS track console's if the get stolen. Your Microsoft account on account.microsoft.com
has a recent activity section that tells you where your account has been signed in, on what device, and usually an IP address is provide there. If your Xbox is set up to require your password to sign in then you won't have to worry about unauthorized charges
as you said you also removed your credit card from there or the person using your account maliciously.

Please contact your local law enforcement and report a stolen Xbox and also your insurance company if you have insurance.
