microsoft ultimate word games word twister not opening for january 17th

anyone else having this issue? not tried any of the later ones yet but i play the daily challenges in order and this challenge, when you click to open it, just pulls up the blue screen with the lettered tiles in the middle as usual, but does nothing else.
they dont move around as normal etc.

pc works fine on other things (windows 10 64 bit) but just cant open this challenge. any ideas?

I recently started having issues with the Word Twister game not saving to the last puzzle that I completed. It reopens 4-5 puzzles back and I have to replay those 4-5 puzzles. The game was fun until this started happening. I may have to abort.

I lost most of my scoring on ultimate word game. I was on map 25 with perfect scores on each map, after microsoft updates on the 17th I am now on map 9. I tried delting the app and reloading and nothing is correcting my game.

It is in the Microsoft Ultimate Word Games package. It is called Word Twister.
