Microsoft Sudoku has a problem with the Ad before a game

When I try to play any game or daily challenge of Sudoku, the end screen of the ad will suddenly show up and when I click on the Close box I am taken back to the selection screen. I have reset the app, uninstalled and reinstalled the app, made sure that
there were no window updates waiting/needing to be installed, rebooted the pc but the end result is that when I try to play a game, the end of the ad screen is displayed and when I close it I am taken back to the selection screen.

Now for a few weeks before this, I was experiencing the game not loading all the way to the selection screen when another window was on top of it (I launch Sudoku and Solitaire at the same time) which just forced me to launch the Sudoku game and wait for
it to load. If I did not wait, it would stop at the blue/black screen before the normal selection screen, forcing me to close the game and try again.

Step one of troubleshooting was reboot computer.

Step two was reset the game.

Step three was to uninstall and reinstall the game.

Step four was to perform a clean boot.

At this point, I still had the problem. This problem appears in Sudoku and Jigsaw. It does not appear in Solitaire or Mahjong.

I now tried to play another game that required me to use sound. I powered up my wireless headphones and found that they were not working. I ended up moving the wireless dongle to a new USB port to force a reinstall of its drivers and my headphones are
now working. As it turns out, this fixed my Sudoku problem as well.

I would have expected a driver issue to affect all games the same...

Problem solved.

Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums. We understand that Microsoft Sudoku is not allowing you to play a game or daily challenge because it is taking you back to the selection screen after you close an advertisement. Are you still experiencing the
application not loading all the way? We recommend performing a
clean boot on the computer. This will make sure that there are very few applications that could be conflicting with the game. We noticed that you mentioned there were no windows updates waiting/needing to be installed. Did you discover this by

manually checking for updates? Be sure to let us know the results!

Ok, I tried to perform a clean boot and I got the problem to change. Sudoku would now crash as it starts (the Sudoku window will appear and then disappear). I tried to reset and then to uninstall/reinstall Sudoku and now I am back to it loading but when
I try to play any game, I get the end screen of the ad and when I close the ad, I go back to the selection screen. Is there a log file somewhere that will tell me what is going on?

I am manually checking for updates and windows has no updates available/pending. I have exited the clean boot (after Sudoku was crashing) and I am ready to try the next troubleshooting step.
