I’m afraid there isn’t a way to get the money back. You can only spend it on the Microsoft store as there isn’t an option to withdraw money added to a Microsoft account at this time.

Unfortunately, Microsoft does not accept returns for items not purchased on the Microsoft Store. For your reference, the following information has been quoted from the Microsoft Store's return policy FAQ:

- "Does the Microsoft Store return policy only apply to items purchased at Microsoft Store?"

"Yes, Microsoft Store’s return policy only applies to products purchased from us. Microsoft does not accept returns of Microsoft products (or any other products) purchased from another retailer."

Microsoft account credit is just that, account credit which you've purchased to use at a later date towards a transaction on the Microsoft store. It is however not a currency for exchanging back and forth, so it probably won't ever be an option to withdraw
credit to your paypal.
