MIcrosoft store instalation failure

ive now tried to uninstall and reinstall the launcher but when i am in the launcher installer it says "failure to connect to microsoft store"

I also have this problem... fully updated OS, Ultimate Pass purchased and app installed. Clicking Install in both the Xbox App and the Store results in errors and failure to start install. Oddly, play anywhere titles install as expected.

As for your question, it is probably a hardware failure. You should return it to the store or to Microsoft requesting a new one.

An update:

A couple days ago, Dead by Daylight 5.0.2 was released, so I decided to use this as an opportunity to try out a few things to see if I could somehow get the microsoft store to detect the update.

1) A friend of mine had the same problem, and the way he resolved it was to go to the game's page in the store and click "install on my devices", next to the play button. This apparently worked just fine for him and he was able to install the update. Unfortunately when I tried this, it simply tells me that it is already installed on my device. Failure.

2) While the microsoft store doesn't seem to have any option to verify an install (it REALLY needs this), there IS a "repair" option in the app settings for Dead by Daylight (not accessible through the microsoft store, by the way). I was hoping that attempting to repair the install might find that it was out of date. However, clicking repair merely resolves in less than 2 seconds. Failure.

3) I decided to attempt what Vinod suggested and just keep attempting to "get updates" repeatedly after the windows store manages to update other apps. Unfortunately this did nothing. Once all apps were updated, pressing the "get updates" button does not find any further updates, no matter how much I do it. Failure.

As you can see, Dead by Daylight is listed as being on version 5.0.1 despite 5.0.2 being released on the 29th.

This system is entirely broken and desperately needs both a "check for updates" button on individual apps, and a LOT more work on the underlying systems used to detect updates in the first place. The fact that I have to completely uninstall and reinstall the game just to install small hotfixes is totally unacceptable.
