sooo for some reason the microsoft store refuses to update and just comes up saying its failed havent had any issues installing any games from my libary so i know it isnt a downloading issue but seems to be the update itself on occasion it asks me to clear some space from my storage but the thing is i have more than enough storage for the update.

It's nothing to do with the current outage. It's an issue at Microsoft/xbox's end that is affecting loads of people. There's a thread about it HERE

Only known possible fix at the moment is to factory reset your console.

You can try that if you want or just wait until they fix the issue. You should still be able to use the store just fine even though the update keeps failing.

    Hi there DireWolf!

Xbox is having some server issues right now, which is most likely the root of your problem!

Keep an out on Xbox Server Status for updates, or subscribe to the server notifications system to be notified when servers will go up! https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-live-status

If servers go up, and this issue keeps happening, contact or reply and ill try to help you out once again in more detail!

Hopefully this helps and Happy Gaming!!

Can't install XBOX App on PC

Windows includes a troubleshooter that can automatically fix some common problems with the Microsoft Store and its apps. Access it by going to 'Settings' -> 'Update & Security' -> 'Troubleshoot' -> 'Additional troubleshooters' -> 'Windows Store Apps'.

Make sure you have enough space on your hard drive for the Xbox app. Sometimes, installations can fail due to insufficient disk space.

Can't connect to friends on Battlefield 3

Had a lot of problems joining friends myself, always comes up failed. Even though they've confirmed there's plenty of spaces available, just one of many of EAs problems.
