microsoft store fail to update even with space available

thanks for that think ill just hold off and see if they bother to fix the issue

It's nothing to do with the current outage.It's an issue at Microsoft/xbox's end that is affecting loads of people.There's a thread about it HERE

Only known possible fix at the moment is to factory reset your console.

You can try that if you want or just wait until they fix the issue.You should still be able to use the store just fine even though the update keeps failing.

Xbox is having some server issues right now, which is most likely the root of your problem!

Keep an out on Xbox Server Status for updates, or subscribe to the server notifications system to be notified when servers will go up! https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-live-status

Make sure you have enough space on your hard drive for the Xbox app. Sometimes, installations can fail due to insufficient disk space.

Had a lot of problems joining friends myself, always comes up failed. Even though they've confirmed there's plenty of spaces available, just one of many of EAs problems.
