    Microsoft store been stuck on pending for Xbox app and a dozen other updates for hours but...


    Brought PC 2 days ago, I clicked on Microsoft Store and clicked install on Xbox app yesterday, it came up pending, I tried again this morning and it still says pending but there's also a dozen others on pending too, for updates I believe. Left it for an hour and nothing seems to have changed so I clicked download and install on epic games and it installed within 3 minutes whilst the others remain on pending. I'm new to PC gaming and software and unaware of what to do.

    However, I can share two potential solutions that may help you:

    1. Run the SFC tool on your PC. This tool may help to find potential corruptions on your system that’s not allowing properly the Microsoft store to work on your system.

    Thanks for confirming that your PC is up-to-date.

    Based on this information, I can suggest you this potential fix:

    1. Open the Microsoft Store and see if you can cancel all the updates.

    2. Close the Microsoft store and press the Windows key + R.

    3. Type wsreset.exe and hit enter.
    After this process, the Microsoft store will be automatically opened.

    4. Try to download the Xbox app one more time.

    However, in case the app can’t be downloaded, I would like to ask if you can install it by downloading the .exe from here:

    That was unsuccessful as well, it loaded about ¼ of the way and then stopped, I left it for an hour and it just abruptly ended without completion

    Hello, thank you for the reply. I have windows 11 and I clicked check for updates and it says "you're up to date". I have no pending on Microsoft Store currently but if I go back to xbox app page and click install, it freezes the page now. Rather annoying as I'd just subscribed to game pass in anticipation of a simple install
