Microsoft Store app stuck in Recents list on Home Screen

Thanks for the reply. I did try this, but no luck. In the end I turned my xbox on just now and after what seems to be an xbox update everything is all fixed.

The update possibly did the reset I was after. Ah well fixed now.

Powering down the console and unplugging it for 2 minutes would clear your cache.

I haven't had the problem you describe. If you load the Settings App again, do you see two Settings Apps showing as recently played?

It explains it, but it doesn't help me because it's a dumb thing to do and I don't want it there. I was hoping the new update would be good, I was wrong. This is a terrible decision.

The most recent update released for Xbox One consoles has the Store shortcut placed on the home screen by default. This I believe you cannot change. If this reply helped you let me know!

We understand that you were trying to download Farming Simulator 2019 and was stuck at preparing. Let us check on this together and sort this out in timely manner.

To better isolate your issue, we would like to ask for few questions:

1. May we know if this happens on other game titles?
   
2. When did this issue happen? Was there a recent Windows update or new application installed on your device?
   
3. Have you tried installing same game on Xbox app?
   
4. Is the credentials for Microsoft Store, Xbox app and PC settings > Accounts > Emails & account?
   

If this happens in Microsoft Store, please check if you can install any app aside from the game. You may perform these suggested troubleshooting:

1. Repair the Microsoft Store.
   
2. Reset/Uninstall Xbox app and clearing Windows Store (Microsoft Store).
   
   • Open PC settings by pressing Windows + I on keyboard.
     
   • Go to Apps > Apps and features. Search and select Xbox App and reset/uninstall.
     
   • Do the same for Microsoft Store (except do not uninstall).
     
3. Clear the Microsoft Store cache.
   
   • Clear the store cache by typing “wsreset” in the Windows search bar. Run this as admin and wait for the screen to close and open the store automatically.
     
4. Reinstall Gaming Services.
   
   • Launch Microsoft Store then search for Xbox app and select Get or Install or Update. After installation of the app close the Microsoft Store.
     
   • Right-click the Start button and select Windows PowerShell (Admin).
     
   • Type this command, press enter and wait:
     Get-AppxPackage *gamingservices* -allusers | remove-appxpackage -allusers
     
5. Relaunch Xbox app and launch the game.
