Microsoft Solitaire Collection stuck on random - no option to choose difficulty level

I have the same problem as described as in the following post:

Except that my problem is specifically for the Klondike game.

When the game was selected to run I used to be able to choose my level, but now it drops directly in to the game and the difficulty level is stuck at "Random". This is rather frustrating, as I am advanced player, and this is the only game that I play on the computer when I do play it.

My current level on Klondike is 572.

I have been searching for a solution for this for some time now, and I would really appreciate, some assistance.

All the basic thing that some to your mind to check, please be advised I have done it all.

It seems to be that the feature was removed with version 4.10 (which is the version that I have, but it appears the feature (the feature being difficulty selection) is still present in version 4.4.

FYI: even though the options have the setting to turn on and off "Difficulty Selection", turning them on and off for any particular game results in nil difference. It does not change anything. I have tested the game on my computer in a new user profile as well, it appears to be the same.

Solution I can see is to downgrade to version 4.4, or other version identified as having this feature functional. The other thing is, I'd like to an in place downgrade, as I have hours and hours of game statistics that I would not like to lose.

Can someone from Microsoft please address this issue and assist me?

What are the "Developers"? I have set all games to "show difficulty level" but the difficulty level always come up as "random". I used to get a screen with all the difficulty levels so that I can choose a level before the game starts. As I see it, that option is no longer there and that sucks.

I am not using Microsoft Solitaire Premium.

In Microsoft Solitaire Collection there is.

"Settings" Apps & Features" choose Microsoft Solitaire Collection, Advanced Settings then Reset.

Hi, thanks for your reply.

This started recently, as far as I know (or at least she only noticed today). On the Applications and Resources list, Microsoft Solitaire Collection displays a "Advanced options" link button, and there I was able to "Restore" the app. It zeroed out all statistics, and re-displayed all tutorials, but even still the select difficulty dialog did not show, and all games begin at random. It's like the other difficulties don't even exist.

The options dialog still has no "Remember deck difficulty" option, and "Display difficulty selection" is enabled for all games. Still, the dialog never shows anywhere.

My grandma didn't even care about the statistics, but she got upset about not being able to choose a difficulty with a guaranteed solution, I really wish I could fix it for her.

Hi there.

I did a search online and it appears that Solitaire collection does not have the option to change difficulty.
