Microsoft solitaire collection stopped working on Apple iPad IOS as of January 1, 2022

I had the same issue. Found a post elsewhere which said it was likely to be a VPN issue. I disabled my VPN (Norton) and was able to log in without any issues. Left it a while and then re-enabled the VPN and it still works.

I have had this issue off and on for years and it was bogus. Now I don’t sign into my Microsoft account for much of anything except Xbox and this reply.

My solution was simple and it solved other annoying issues - namely the nads.

I assumed root cause was not logging in to account.

So I deleted MS Solitaire. I replaced it with Brainium. Problem solved. I ignore their very infrequent login in screen.

Bonus. Nads can be exited almost instantly. There are usually 2 X’s per nad. Takes maybe 4 seconds. And these nads seem to honor the mute sound on nads which MS nads just ignore and usually force 30 second nad on you.

My internet is working fine and all other internet related functions on my ipad are working fine. Microsoft solitaire collection just does not see the internet for the challenges.

Apple requires all controllers to hold an MFi certification
(Made For iPhone/iPad) to be recognized and work properly with all iOS and tvOS devices. Without this certification, any games that have been built via Apple’s specifications and that you would like to play will simply ignore uncertified controllers
even if you can manage to pair it with iOS or tvOS.

I’d suggest that if you want to use a controller with your iPhone or iPad that has an MFi certification.
