Microsoft security issue and XBOX issue

Hello Kim, if you have exchanged your security information in your account and it has entered the 30 days of quarantine to make the exchange, unfortunately there is no way to bypass or speed up the process, it is done automatically by the system for account security.

Does anybody know how to change your security question or how to recover the answer? I have my account and can access it but can not do certain things due to not remembering my account security question. Any suggestions?

I am still concerned that when the security settings are set to defaults it reverts back to the original password.

It also seems to be possible to change the parental controls without password prompting, I believe this is because there is a password to enter the live account at initial sign in and thereafter most settings can be changed - which is understandable - however,
I would like to be able to secure parental settings yet still provide access to the xbox so that games can be played or netflix can be viewed.

The same default password is in effect for the Netflix app and even though I have changed the main xbox live password (the 4 digit number using the control pad) the Netflix 4 digit password has remained the same. This means that if an 18 certificate film
is requested to be viewed when the prompt comes up the old known password can be used.

Will Netflix update to the new password?

I have checked and am happy to see that the account sign in and parental settings have the up to date password.

I have noticed that the privacy settings are not passowrd protected which gives me some concern.

I have also ended payment to the netflix account so this application is no longer available (and I pursued it's re-download and checked this to make sure they couldn't just start using it again and am happy to see that it requires an email and password entry
to re-commence use).

I wonder if my earlier problems were caused by xbox live not updating all of its securtiy information, possibly cause by a local internet problem?

For now I have found a solution - no Netflix therefore no 18 films.

I am concerned that the code is only 4 digit and would prefer if there was more digits or a second question required when signing in.

It looks like in regard my two initial questions the answers are as follows:

1) Can I set up a seperate account for the teenagers which will still have all the access to games, apps and the live network that is in the main account?

No.

2) Can I set up further and more detailed password prompts (I have one prompt when I sign in to the account and another if I attempt to change password) I am hoping to be able to password protect access to the parental controls and settings menu's.

No and Yes: The parental controls does have passcode access; the passcode is 4 digit and this cannot be further enhanced to protect settings within the xbox menu when using the xbox.

The only time a second tier of security is asked for is when attempting to change the passcode.

However - it is possible to protect the xbox.live account which is the email address linked ot the xbox with further security proofs.

I am still concerned that a teenager could spend time guessing the 4 digit code and then be able to change and access areas which allow them to view material which is not suitable.

I am also concerned that the privacy settings have no security so any user can change these to allow them to reveal more information about themselves to the online network.

I hope this is of use to others with similar problems.

overall - I am not satisfied that the xbox is secure enough, though it will have to do for now and I will need to check routiely to ensure that the settings are as they should be.

Can you give us a bit more information on the error/issue you're getting on the Xbox? When you try to download/log in, do you get a particular error code (IE: 800xxxxx) or error message?
