Microsoft rewards Xbox gift card money has not appeared in my account

Yes I understand that it will add on to my existing microsoft credit. The question is that the gift cards you redeem through rewards have a 90 day expiry date where you have to spend that money within that time. The money I have in my account is through bought gift cards and as so has no expiry date to use the money by. I just want to know if I redeem gift cards through microsoft rewards, when I buy a game it will use the gift card money with the expiry date first and not the money i already have in my account. If that makes sense. Thanks.

It has not done that before though previous purchases have been instant

It can take up to 24 hours to receive the funds after redeeming them. If you don't get them in that time, check your order history on the redemption page of the rewards site and it'll give the option to either resend it or give a code to redeem. If not, you'll want to contact Microsoft Rewards support via the contact link at the bottom of the site.

If you have enough Microsoft reward points, then you need to redeem the reward points for Xbox/Microsoft Gift Cards on the redeem page of Microsoft rewards. Then once the gift card codes have been emailed to you, then you can redeem those gift card codes on https://account.microsoft.com/billing/redeem Once you have enough money from the Xbox Gift Cards, you can then purchase Minecraft from the Microsoft Store or Xbox Store (depending on which version you want).
