Microsoft is going around Suspending people Microsoft accounts for no reason, removing their ability to access purchases such as Xbox Live or Minecraft. They are blatantly just telling us TOO BAD ALL YOUR PURCHASE GONE PAY US AGAIN Microsoft removng access to purchases without offering refund. Violation of Australian... ;) This is a disgusting business practice and a violation of Australian Consumer Law. How have they been getting away with this illegal business practice for so long and how is it still continuing?

:)

Xbox Store Rip Off in Australia
another reason NOT to buy from the xbox store. the NO REFUNDS policy
Despite what it may tell you on the purchase page, that is not entirely the case. Microsoft have to comply with the Australian Consumer Law. They do offer refunds under certain circumstance (defective, product isn't what it
is advertised as, etc). You won't get a refund if you simply don't like it.

Xbox One not Recommended, took mine back to the store for full refund.

In relation to this "Offer no refunds on digitally purchased content, absolute scam & is against the Australian law." If you ask for a refund for a faulty product (for example, Halo the Master Chief Collection) then you will get it, because it is against
Australian Consumer Law for them to refuse. However, if you try to get a refund because you changed your mind, didn't like it or bought the wrong product, then it is up to the vendor's discretion as to whether they will allow a refund or not.

It's actually in their terms and conditions: "6.9 Refund policies. Unless otherwise provided by law or by a particular Service offer, all purchases are final and non-refundable."

The part where it says "Unless otherwise provided by law or by a particular Service" essentially means that, if you live in a region where local laws say they are legally obligated to give refunds for faulty products, they will.

Luckily for us, Australia is one of those places.

Is a refund eligible if price goes down for Black Friday?

Microsoft doesn't offer refunds for the difference in price. If they do approve a refund, they would refund the entire purchase and then you would have to purchase it again at the sale price.

EA access subscription

In order to qualify for the first purchase offer, your purchase has to be made using currency from your Microsoft account balance, so an EA Access subscription is not eligible for that offer. There are no offers to receive credits for purchasing EA Access.

Cyberpunk refund denial

My refund was also declined except the reason given was my purchase is outside the timeline allowed for refunds. Australian Consumer Law, which ironically is posted directly on the Microsoft website, states that if the item is unfit for purpose or not performing
as advertised or intended, then I am entitled to a refund.

Of course my purchase was outside the timeline. I preordered it. That doesn't excuse the fact the game doesn't work and it doesn't make Microsoft exempt from Consumer Law. I have lodged a complaint.
