Microsoft Passwordless account no longer works with Xbox series S?

I had to switch back to a Microsoft account with password because if I tried logging in with the “Microsoft link” it either was too slow and said the code timed out or even if I was super fast and made it seemingly in time the Xbox would not respond and would still time out eventually saying the code was no longer valid. I used my Xbox with a passwordless account for months without issue, but the login screen changed (it has a QR code now) and since I’ve been having this issue. What is going on here?

You would have to contact support

I cannot recommend more adding a password and 2 factor authentication to your account

I’m on an Xbox series S not an Xbox one, and I have a microsoft account just not an account that works for xbox 360 games and it says I need a gamer profile

No it's longer and white, with no black circle on it. It's still a series s Xbox and when I looked up compatible consoles for this game it said the series s.

When sign-in, select "Use another device" and open the microsoft.com link on a browser.

Enter the code provided on the console and sign in with your passwordless method.

The 'App password' for the Xbox 360 is a work-around for the two step verification system available for the Xbox One/Series X|S. As the Xbox 360 doesn't support 2 step, you need to use an 'App Password' on these consoles.

For the Xbox One and Series X|S consoles, you need to use your Microsoft account password.
