    Microsoft Mono Chat Headset Question


    Hi All,

    Picked up the Microsoft brand chat headset, and when I plug it in I see the headset icon on the screen and it looks like it works but I don't hear any game audio in the headset and when I created a party to see if the mic piece worked I get nothing
    there either (even though the system seems to recognize it fine).

    I've googled and gone through the steps for making sure the controllers up to date, and power cycling the system with the headset connected and disconnected, tried my other controller with the headset and the same results...

    Any help you could give would be awesome!

    Hey there Brad thanks for keeping in touch.

    We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused but rest assured we are here to help, we have seen this in the past
    and since the issue could be on the actual OS of the console so we would suggest a >Soft
    Factory Reset    <
    (while keeping games and apps with the controller and headset plugged in)
    IF AND ONLY IF THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA IS MET:

    • There is a stable network connection.
    • The information for all profiles is known (email and passwords)

    Once the setup is complete it will ask if we want to keep settings or manual setup
    lets do manual setup. Give it a shot and let us know of any changes!

    Thanks for the info, so ive got a 3.5mm recon headset from turtle beach that when i plug in the system doesnt appear to recognize, have you seen issues with these types? Im trying to get a headset thatll work with chat and audio.

    Hey there Brad,

    So here's the thing, that headset that was purchased is only for chatting, it will work perfectly for that but not for in-game audio. However, if it doesn't do that the underlying problem could be on the NAT Type, check out our

    NAT Type Error page     for some troubleshooting steps but let us know how it goes so we can further assist in this or any other issues or inquiries!
