Sedan decemberuppdateringen 2018 händer det nästan varje gång när jag spelar Microsoft Minesweeper på min dator med Windows 10 efter en stund att jag inte kan klicka på rutor. Sedan försvinner spelet och bara den gröna bakgrunden visas i någon sekund. Därefter
släcks spelet och jag är tillbaka till Windows bakgrundsskärm.

Ganska retsamt.

Finns det något att göra?

[Mod Translation - Since the December 2018 update, it happens almost every time I play Microsoft Minesweeper on my computer with Windows 10 after a while that I can't click on boxes.

Thanks for your help. I shall not reset my PC, as weighing the possibility to maybe be able to play the game is not worth the hassle to reset or reinstall Windows.

My guess is that the problem is in Minesweeper.

Thank you. I have now in particular tested to disable Norton, but eventually the game stopped as usual. I think I have now been through all the advice I have received.

I guess the Minesweeper team is kept up to date with problems.

Please go to Start > Apps & Features > Scroll down to your game > Click Advanced Options > Click "reset".

See if that fixes the problem.

Also, you can try this:

Start > "troubleshoot" > Scroll down to the bottom of that menu and "troubleshoot windows store apps" and seeing if that fixes it or says something wasn't fixed.

I had done those two before (also uninstalled and reinstalled). They do not help me. The message in the troubleshooter is: "The problem found, apps that lock up or crash was not fixed."

Do you have all windows updates? Please check manually by going to Start > Updates and check for updates on that page.

And can you do a clean boot:

Press the "Windows + R" key to open a Run box.
Type msconfig and click OK.
On the General tab, click Selective startup.
Clear the Load startup items check box.
Click the Services tab.
Select the Hide all Microsoft services check box (at the bottom).
Click Disable all.

Also, if you have the N or KN version of Windows 10 you may need the Media Feature Pack for this app and similar ones to work properly:

I checked Windows Update (I have automatic updates) and the computer is in modern shape.

I followed the instructions. I could not get the computer to stop the autostart objects through the msconfig panel, so I inactivated them all (except the Norton security software, that I am afraid not to use) in the activity manager. I then ran the Minesweeper,
but it crashed as usual.

I very much appreciate your helping me and understand we have to take one step at a time.

Then it may either be a problem with the game or you may need to reset your PC completely if this a deeper problem. The "reset this PC" feature may help but make sure you backup your data anyways to be safe, on an external hard drive.

I don't have any more tips to give you unfortunately.
