Hello peeps.

last wednesday i opend outlook to check my 20 year old hotmail address inbox. i was greeted with the varifie your account.once compleated i was told this could take upto 24 hours.each time i was emailed saying i cannot prove it is me(logging in from a ip address i have been using for two months) i chatted with a microsoft agent online and got the proof of ownership form to fill in.its been 3 days and no reply

ok i doubt my email was compromised.my money is on microflp getting rid of the old hotmail.co.uk

microflop ok fine you did that but how do i recover my xbox live account. i dont want to lose my gamertag fyi warshaddow9137,really dont want to lose my gamerscore and my paid downloads

However, to link my old email address to my hotmail account is not possible as i can only link other hotmail email addresses to my hotmail account.

I tried to recover my old email address and was informed by the email address provider that it was not only deactivated but also terminated and not recoverable as i havent used it in 10+ years.

Is there any other way to help change my old xbox live email address? Perhaps microsoft could change it manually? Given that i can verify that it is my account via Identification card, phone number or facebook as i use the same email address there as i do on my xboxlive account.

the actual email address associate with my gamertag , the one i use to sign into hotmail and recover my gamertag with is [REMOVED - DO NOT POST EMAIL OR MICROSOFT ACCOUNT]

Don't feel bad. I am in the same situation. I have an alternate email address (that is not a hotmail address) that works. When I try to recover my password Microsoft tells me that because my email account is not a hotmail account they can not send me my
reset info. I have been trying to get my password reset for a month and a half. It's funny how you can reset your bank account password, your email password, and your billing password without issue, but something like a gaming profile password reset takes
an act of god and apparently Microsoft is not god.

Do you remember the password for the Hotmail account?

if so it is still a good email it would be the same password that you would use say if you were trying to sign into the account on your xbox console.

to check the Hotmail email you would go to outlook.com and sign in with the Hotmail email and password associated with that account.

if you do not remember the password you can try and recover the Hotmail account at account.live.com/acsr

then you can sign into the account at account.live.com/addassocid and change the email address associated with that Microsoft account.

Now to answer your question NO you can not transfer purchases made on one account to another account.

but you can recover your old account and change the email used for signing into that account. by following the directions above
