    Microsoft GameInput Application Reconfiguration Crashes Win 10


    Hi this application crashes my PC forcing a restart whenever I play a game.

    Upon checking the Reliability Monitor 100% of the time the crash is caused by "Successful application reconfiguration" of Microsoft GameInput.

    From Reliability Monitor - "Description

    Windows Installer reconfigured the product. Product Name: Microsoft GameInput. Product Version: 10.1.22621.1011. Product Language: 1033. Manufacturer: Microsoft Corporation. Reconfiguration success or error status: 0."

    How do I solve this & why does it reconfigure everything works fine till then.

    Do I actually need it or indeed Microsoft Gaming Services & X Box I never use them happy to remove if they are the issue but how.

    Hello John, yes, unfortunately you need these applications installed on your system, they work together with each other and end up using system files for that.

    It's also good to have the Xbox App companion installed.

    Also make sure you have the latest Windows updates installed on your computer.

    Will see what I can do as said friend of a friend. I do remember he said it could possibly be a power supply issue so run a power usage monitor program or see if it only happens on games where the computer is working hard but not easier ones. Low power causes it to reset.

    Not 100% sure a friend of a friend did it, I think they did something to the registry.
