    I just bought Microsoft Flight Simulator from Steam yesterday. I have completely wiped it and reinstalled it (yes all 136 gigabytes of files) THREE TIMES, and nothing has worked. I finally got it to work today by not installing the "essential updates" package (because the last time I did I got the error in the title and I had to reinstall the game AGAIN). When I finished the installation of the game (downloading the 136 gigabytes of files), I got a prompt to get the "essential updates" package. The first time, I click the "update option," and it then gave me a screen that said "you are missing essential packages, please update the game and try again." I then reinstalled the game with a new set of the 136 gigabytes of files, and I clicked the "update later" option. The game ran normally and smoothly, and I played for a few hours. I then quit the game. When I tried to load the game again, it gave me the SAME ERROR: "you are missing essential packages, please update the game and try again."

    Guys, I just want to play Microsoft Flight Simulator. No, I haven't installed any mods or marketplace content. No, I haven't messed with the files or gotten a pirated copy. I got the game fair and square and have gone through all the processes and this thing refuses to work out-of-the-box. I have done ZERO tinkering. I am on an AMD system, latest version of Windows 10. Please help me, I've done research but I've found nothing that works. Why does this have to happen to me??? I haven't done anything wrong! I just want to play the game Microsoft Flight Simulator: You are missing essential packages, please update the game and... :(
