Microsoft Flight Simulator Xbox - cannot BUY AND DOWNLOAD (grayed out)

To fix this kindly follow the steps below:

1. Click on your gamertag in the top right corner of the screen

2. Click Sign out

3. Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.

4. Highlight the game, press the Menu button on your controller, and select Quit.

5. Restart the game.

All versions of Flight Simulator seem to have undergone the GOTY title change. According to this page: Microsoft Flight Simulator | Xbox it is not available separately. When you try to download are you in account.microsoft.com/orders? And going from there?

If you go to this page: Buy Microsoft Flight Simulator: Deluxe Game of the Year Edition | Xbox It breaks down the bundle into three parts:





Which is just the game, digital ownership, and the deluxe content. If you are in account.microsoft.com/orders and cannot download it from the redeemed code, let me know, I can escalate this to our store team and see if there is an issue here since the GOTY change.

Buying the disc version is not the game any more

no matter what you would have to download the entire game again after three years of updates

All existing copies have been grandfathered to the Microsoft flight simulator 20 20/40 anniversary edition. This is free and no cost to you. You can download it from the link below

We understand that you cannot play with your son on MSFS 2020 when the game moved to F1 on steam. As per description, you want to know if you can buy a standard version of the game MSFS 2020 for your PC and if there's no conflict from the Steam community folder game or add-ons.

To answer your question, yes, you can buy the standard version of Microsoft Flight Simulator and run it alongside F1 game on Steam. There should be no conflict from the Steam community folder game or add-ons. You do not need to remove any files. However, Steam purchases will not be available, but you can purchase the edition you are interested in from the in-game Marketplace.
