microsoft flight simulator purchase is stuck on update screen

I bought flight simulator on my school account by mistake.

I first installed with game pass and had no problems.

Then I bought a license for $50.

Now i am getting an update message and there is no option to update the game.

I tried resetting the game data. It did not solve the problem.

I cant access customer support because it is a school account and admin access is required to ask for help.

Now were you able to download and run the game?

I uninstalled the 1.13 gig flight simulator file, reinstalled it, then a 100 gig update triggered. That was a waste of an hour or two of my time. F Microsoft.

the game is now 300 gigs

i downloaded it. havent tried running it yet. might or might not work

took forever because microsoft does not zip the files and has a **** download rate
