    Microsoft Flight Simulator CTD without any reason and message, Untraceable in event viewer...


    The simulator crashed after 20 minute to 1-hour flight just like the game has been ALT+F4'd. I was flying anywhere on earth, from the airport to custom starting in the sky. I tried using any aircraft; 747, A320, King-air, Darkstar, and F/A18 all the same crashed to desktop mid-flight after some time in the sky. Mostly fly in the morning, noon, and afternoon. My settings are Medium & High with Vsync on and dlss on quality.

    Laptop Specification

    • Ryzen 9 5900HX
    • RTX 3070
    • 32GB RAM
    • 1TB SSD
    • Zephyrus Duo SE (Total 3 Monitor (2 laptop monitors & 1 External))
    • Internet speed is around 30-40mbps
    • 3 USB ports, 1 plugged into USB hub 1 for headset wireless adapter
    This crash is very weird and almost every CTD fix and solution that is mentioned in any forum is not working. The crash is untraceable on the event viewer and reliability monitor so I can’t get the error codes or actually know what caused the crash in the first place.

    The solution I’ve tried but does not work.

    • Restarting the laptop
    • Reducing Graphics Quality
    • Disabling Rolling Cache
    • Turning on VSYNC and using a 50% monitor refresh rate
    • Updating Nvidia driver
    • Rollback Nvidia driver
    • Changing Nvidia game ready driver to Studio driver
    • Updating Windows
    • Turning on windows game mode
    • Turning off HAGS
    • Turning off Antivirus
    • Underclocking GPU (originally not overclocked)
    • Run in Safe Mode
    • Uninstalling all addons
    • Running in administrator
    • Customizing pagefile
    • Changing DNS
    • Set MSFS to low priority
    • Uninstalling Audio software (Realtek, Nahimic, Logitech GHUB & Sonic audio)
    • Disabling oculus OVR
    • Reinstalling Xbox app
    • Deleting MSFS Cloud files
    • Deleting DirectX shader cache
    • Doing /scannow and /chkdsk on cmd
    • Restoring disk health on cmd
    • Running MSFS without any other program in the background
    • (and everything on zendesk's Crashing/CTDs issues Checklist)

    I am not yet reinstalling the game let alone reinstalling windows since most CTD issue in the game isn’t solvable by reinstalling the game and my internet is basically using quota for mobile data, so I will hardly consider redownloading 120gigs+ for something that is uncertain. My ram is healthy when I checked but I suspect a memory leak is the culprit my CTD symptom isn't like any other symptom that is mentioned in case of a memory leak.

    Please if there is any solution or any idea why the crash always happens to me, please do tell me. I really can’t wait to be back flying again since FSX.

    Flight Simulator on XBOX Game Pass not Installing/Downloading

    Hi,

    This could be caused by many different things as not all PC Windows configurations are the same. Your system meets the requirements, but be aware that the GTX 1650 only just about goes over the minimum. It shouldn't be the reason for the game not launching to begin the main install however.

    If you could have a look at the Windows Event Viewer and find the details of the crash, that may be of some help.

    Also, have a read of the official Microsoft Flight Simulator FAQ regarding crashing and CTD's.

    You will probably get better assistance on the official forums for Flight Simulator 2020, specifically the Bugs & Issues: Performance, Graphics & CTDs section of the forum.
