Microsoft Flight Simulator cannot be installed on Win 10

I need help from someone as the Flight Simulator does not get installed on my Win 10. Just to establish the understanding here - I am senior IT Consultant and know my ways around PC

Nothing works, not even re-installing Windows and this is the only game not working. Can install and play any other... MS Support says to contact Xbox Support, but they don't come back to me, I don't get any call back at all.

Any idea?

Hi Eletricdrum,

thank you for your help and reply (and others as well). Unfortunately, none of the solutions worked, however, I was able to find one either way - it's quite silly, though. When installing FS, Xbox (or MS Store) asks where to install the game and presents available and capable disks large enough for the game. As the FS is almost 150GB (plus extras) in size, I wanted it to have on a different drive, away from OS drive. It never worked...

So I tried out of curiosity what happens with choosing the system drive - well it worked! Luckily, it only installed a little more than 1 GB and then the game asked where to install the rest of the files.

Hi, my name is Fernando and I am an independent consultant for Microsoft products.

Logout from the Microsoft store:

- Open Windows Store app, and click on the user icon located on the top right hand side of the window.

- Select the user name, and click on Sign out.

Check if your PC has all the updates installed including this one:

2021-08 Windows 10 Version 21H1 Update for x64-based Systems (KB4023057)

After updating your PC install the Xbox app and log in with the same Microsoft Store account.

Explain what happens when you try to install the game? Do you get an error code?

Ok.. let's try other procedure:

Checking the proxy settings.

- Click Start and type in inetcpl.cpl and press Enter. This will open the Internet Options window.

- Under Connections tab, click on LAN settings.

- Remove the check beside Use a proxy server for your LAN (These settings will not apply to dial-up or VPN connections). and click OK.

- Launch Windows Store again and check if the issue persist.

- If there's no check beside Use a proxy server for your LAN, proceed "Repair Windows"

Repair Windows Store using Powershell.

- Click Start and type in powershell and press Enter.

- Copy and paste this Get-AppxPackage | % { Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppxManifest.xml" -verbose } on Powershell and press Enter.

- Restart your device and launch Windows Store again.

that's the thing - nothing happens. It's literally just an error and it doesn't even start downloading. The error also says nothing...
